Bold start: Two lifelong friends are about to make a bigger impact than they ever imagined. The Team USA challenge just gets tougher for J.T. Miller and Vincent Trocheck.
MILAN — J.T. Miller and Vincent Trocheck, bonded since childhood, skate onto the ice together as Team USA’s premier penalty-killing duo at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics. Their chemistry mirrors the synergy they display on the top power-play unit for the New York Rangers in the NHL.
These two Pittsburgh natives first crossed paths at age 10 with the Pittsburgh Hornets in the Triple-A circuits, and since then, their careers and paths have repeatedly intertwined. Their families are deeply connected; Trocheck even hosted Miller and his family after Miller was traded from Vancouver to New York last season.
So, imagine what Miller and Trocheck would tell their younger selves about the moment they learned they’d compete in the Olympics side by side.
